Arnie is a sweet and gentle boy. He is great around other dogs of all sizes. He can be a little shy at first when meeting new people, but after a few sniffs he warms up to them and is happy to climb up into a lap. He is a spry, curious and happy boy.
Arnie will walk on a leash, but is a little slow about it. He is more of a cruiser and does not react quickly, so high speed children are not the best to have around him. He is not anxious when left alone, but he doesn't wait long for a potty break, so it is best to give him a doggie door or other regular access to outdoors.
Arnie had a rough life before coming to POMDR. He was found as a stray in bad shape and taken to Salinas Animal Services. He was covered in mats in some places and sparse hair in others. The shelter shaved off the mats and started giving him the care that he needed. When they asked POMDR if we would take him into our program, we happily said yes!
